How can I see the 2 private messages I've received?

I received an email saying I've received a new private message, so I followed the link to my Home Page. My Home Page indicates that I've received 2 private messages, but I have no idea how to read them. I tried clicking on the "my messages" link in the Hello box on the upper left-hand corner of my home page, but all it does is to jump down the Home Page down so that the "My Private Messages: (2)" box is at the top of the browser window. I may be dense but the only 2 other instances of message I find are in "Post your message, pictures, web links..." & 2 lines lower, "Post message, comment..."  So, how can I read them?

Thanlks in advance for any assistance.

Best regards,

Mike Coane

Mcoane, I think the problem with the email spam is universal and I don’t see a really effective way of fighting it as of now. One is always facing the dilemma whether to expand the filter and lose some emails, but get rid of more spam, or to narrow the filter and ensure that almost all (important) emails will not be lost for the price of some spam missed. In our case, we deal with a bit easier situation. We are not handling emails, but messages within our system. So, we have the benefit of behavioral viewpoint reports, too. For example, when some of our associates and friends receive out of blue offer “ret rich quick” or “we give away money free” and the system report that the same message was sent to another 30 recipients within few minutes… I think it is rather obvious what is going on. In other words, the answer on your question if it is error-proof – we cannot guarantee 100%, but the system performs very well so far.

Thanks for the replies, Wizard. i hadn't realized that the process of sending me the notification of a message & recognizing it as spam was asynchronous. I already get enough spam in my Yahoo InBox -- despite my flagging several emails as spam; it appears that Yahoo's spam recognizer is less than trustworthy, since some of the emails I flag as spam are reincarnated sometime later -- that I don't need any more. Is your spam recognition filter error-proof? I.e. is it certain that emails that Aidpage recognizes as spam really are spam? If so, you could probably package it up as a product :-), or could I enjoy the benefits of its superior spam-recognition features by the simple expedient of using my Aidpage email address for all email?

Mcoane, I haven’t seen the emails that you are talking about, so I cannot be 100% sure, but yes – it appears that some spamming account sent you a private message, you have got an email notification, and subsequently the system recognized and removed the account. That could be one of the logical reasons why you received an email notification, and you cannot see the message. Why the system sent you an email notification on a first place?… The process is asynchronous and it takes some time to recognize “spamming” action. In the mean time you have got an email notification. This message and previous one that I sent to you is public (visible to everyone). That is why you see them on this place (under the four circular buttons). Regards

Thanks for the reply, Wizard. Am I to understand that the emails of which I received notice were spam? If so & the accounts were removed, why was I sent a notification? I can see this reply of yours in the box labeled "Messages, pictures, web links... (1)." under the 4 circular buttons. Is that where I'll always see non-spam messages? But what of the other messages? Thanks in advance for your assistance. Best regards, Mike Coane

Mcoane, the system is constantly scanning for spamming attempts and removing these accounts. If such an account has sent you a message, it is removed, too.
